Tourism on Koh Lanta

Tourism on Koh Lanta has increased considerably during the last 7 years, the island seems to be developing towards a more up-market kind of customer, with extremely luxurious private resorts in the southern part of the island.

The Southern part of Koh Lanta is mainly protected National Park, with only the beach areas permitted for tourism.For those who wish to visit Koh lanta Touristically, but on a more economical budget, should look for accomodation on  the following beaches;
Klong Khong:- This beach is not so fine powdery sand as the more popular beaches, but is a lot quieter, and the bungalows/resorts are still pretty much undeveloped, with economy room prices ranging from 100 baht to 500 baht per night.
Klong Nin:- This beach is perhaps the biggest and most beautiful white powder-sand beaches on Koh lanta.
Just bordering on the edge of the National Park, the room prices are a lot cheaper than within the Park - though still close enough to reach within a 5 to 10 minute bike ride.Most of the popular bars and party places are there too.
Had Yaw (Long Beach/ban Pra Ae):- This is a beautiful and extremely long beach in the center of the island, most of the foreign action goes on here, with popular chillout bar "Opium" setting the centre-stage.
You can obtain most kinds of provisions for tourists from the local shops too, avoiding a journey to Saladan, the main town.

Koh lanta Ko Lanta dot com has the intention of trying not to concentrate on Kohlanta's touristic aspects too heavily, due to the fact that there are over 50 Kolanta websites already competing against each other agressively, which only helps to add to the confusion for people wishing to obtain an overview of the touristic .attractions and resort complexes on Koh lanta's multitude of Bays and Beaches.

Touristic activities documented on the majority of Koh Lanta based websites are limited to the attractions and tour companies who agree to a bookings  commission based partnership with the website in question, leaving some of the lesser, more authentic and interesting projects on koh lanta island, who cant afford to offer a commision due to a less commercially concieved idea, obscured to the knowledge of the Kho Lanta visitor.

Commercial exploitation of tourists visiting Koh lanta yai and Koh lanta Noi is rife because of this. Koh lanta Ko lanta dot com is dedicated to offer an alternative perspective of Koh Lanta island Archipelago, and also to help both Foreign visitors and holidaymakers to encounter some of the fascinating cultural aspects and alternative leisure activities that visitors to Koh Lanta may otherwise never get to bve aware of.

Thailand is a fascinating Country, where each island has it's own local customs and traditions; Unfortunately, due to corporate greed, and also subtle factors such as the language barrier, most visitors to this wonderful Country never get a chance to experience many of these wonderful aspects.
