Lanta has a Sea Gypsy settlement on the South tip of the island.This
settlement is a small village called "Ban sang Ka U" (บ้านสังคะอู).As i have written on several other incomplete pages, i am sorry for the delay in the development of this website and the stories i have promised to tell. In the moment i am stuck in Bangkok and have no time to stay on Lanta and fotograph things to help my recounting of tales, customs and events. I Promise to return to Lanta within the next few months (before december 2008), and begin the next phase of the growth of this website. I have a big dream for what i wish this site to become and i promise i won't let you down in the end there will be a treasure trove of info that you wont find in English anywhere else on the web.The Sea Gypsies' and their part in Koh Lanta's story is coming in the next week or so. So come back to see the pics and read the story. Boat Baptism is going to be the first sea gypsy ceremony covered.
